Ordering Repeat Prescriptions
The easiest way to order repeat prescriptions are:

- Using our GP online system: SystmOnline
(Registration required, available 24/7)
The above accounts will show your repeat medications with dosage and when they were last ordered/due. You can choose the one/s you need.
You can also:
- Phone us on 01263 733693 or 01603 870271 and select option 2 to use our automated messaging service and available 24/7.
- Leave a repeat prescription request form (right hand side of previous prescription collected) in the post box located in the porch at either surgery.
We DO NOT take repeat prescription requests over the phone or via email.
Collecting Prescriptions
If you live more than 1.6 miles from your nearest pharmacy, you are eligible to collect your prescriptions from the surgery. If you are not already registered for this service, please contact us (link to page) if you would like to change and/or find out more.
Dispensing Patients:
You can collect your repeat prescription from your chosen surgery (or allocated according to home address), three working days (72hrs) after placing your order. This does not include weekends or Bank Holidays. Both our dispensaries are open 8.30am – 1pm & 2 – 6pm, Monday to Friday.
If you are prescribed a medication because of a consultation on that day (acute), this will be available for you to collect either in the afternoon, if issued before 12pm or the next day if issued after. Should you require your prescription more urgently than this, please discuss with our dispensary team.
Pharmacy Patients:
You can usually collect your repeat prescription from the pharmacy 3-5 working days after you have ordered it. You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescriptions from. This is called nominating a pharmacy.
You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:
- Using your NHS account (through the NHS website or in the NHS App)
- Using our GP online system: SystmOnline
(Registration required, available 24/7)
- At any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions
Questions about your prescription
Information about your medication including how it works, how and when to take, possible side effects and answers to common questions can be found at Medicines A-Z on the NHS website:
If you are unable to find the information you need or have further questions, you can contact us (link to page) and request to speak to one of our Pharmacy Technicians who will be able to assist you or further your query as appropriate.
Medication Reviews
If you have a repeat prescription, we may ask you to come in for a regular review. This can sometimes be completed at other points of contact with our services e.g., your long-term condition review but if needed, we will be in touch if needed.
Prescription Charges and Exemption

You may be asked to provide evidence if you do not pay for your prescriptions. It is your responsibility to complete the prescription declaration accurately, do not assume you are automatically covered and ask before you collect. You may incur a penalty if the NHS are unable to verify your eligibility to free prescriptions.
What to do with Old Medication
If your medication is out of date or unwanted, please DO NOT put it in with your household rubbish or flush it down the toilet. Take to your pharmacy to be disposed of safely.
About Pharmacists
As qualified healthcare professionals, pharmacists can give you advice on a range of conditions, suggest medicines that you can buy without needing a prescription and discuss any queries you have relating to medication already prescribed.
They may also be able to offer treatment and some prescription medication for some conditions, without you needing to see a GP:
To find out more on the NHS website about How pharmacies can help
Many pharmacies are open until late and/or at weekends. You do not need an appointment. Most pharmacies have a private consultation room where you can discuss issues with pharmacy staff without being overheard:
